Joshua Tree’s wildlife corridor…

We’ve just made our first small donation to the wonderful Mojave Desert Land Trust (using proceeds from Defend Joshua Tree T-shirt sales) to support their Joshua Tree North Wildlife Linkage campaign, which buys land to provide passage of wild animals along a wildland corridor to/from the Joshua Tree National Park. In general, this kind of corridor-building is super-important for species preservation with global climate change occurring and wild animals having to move to different altitudes to survive. The more linked wildland, the better. Regarding this initiative, friend Karen Tracy adds: “[MDLT’s] wildlife link is critical to saving that big parcel across from the Joshua Tree Retreat Center which very well could end up commercially developed plus 1500 houses and a hotel or a golf course absent our support.” More info here:
