Barnraising at Nicholas’ place

Talk about photo op. This is how it’s done: let everyone else do the work, then show up at what turns out to be a pivotal moment and end up hogging the camera’s lens, appearing to be the project’s director. Yes!

What’s really going on here is a group build by the Hi-Desert Barnraisers of a new GrowShack (TM?) for Barnraiser Nicholas Holmes, who custom designed it, on his land in Joshua Tree. I showed up mid-afternoon to offer another unskilled hand, which wasn’t really needed—except perhaps at this moment when we had to flip the shack’s base.

Photo by the completely biased Stephanie Smith.
